Asian or Western? But First, Let Me Take A Selfie

Selfie has been THE word since a couple of years ago and now we have "wefie" (more than one person in the picture), "catfie", "dogfie" and many more. There used to be a saying: "Everyone gets their 15 minutes of fame!" Nowadays, with the power of internet and smart phones, everyone could have 15 minutes of fame in just one day! Although some critics have talked about the negativities that the concept of selfie has brought to the world, I think we should all agree that the selfie phenomenon is one of the biggest things in our lives right now and will not be going away anytime soon. 

Being someone who has been exposed to both asian and western culture, I have witnessed and observed the differences on how the selfie looks between these two cultures. I have to admit that I haven't been shying away from taking selfies. Check out the photos below and make your own mind on which style of selfies they are: Asian or Western?

自拍是这几年来风靡网络的一个代名词，并且现在除了自拍，还有群自拍，猫自拍，狗自拍等等。曾经有句名言：“每个人在一生中都有15分钟的闪光时间！” 而现在随着网络和智能手机的发达，每个人在每天就可能获得15分钟的精彩！尽管有许多人评价说自拍这个概念败坏了社会的风气，但是没有人可以否定这个正在席卷网络的现象不会在短期内消失。对于向我这样在亚洲和北美文化都浸泡过的女孩来说，我已经观察到了在这两种文化中，自拍的概念截然不同。请看看我以下的自拍照，然后由你来决定哪些是比较亚洲试，哪些是比较北美试的吧。

The pose "Yeah" has always been the biggest one in Asian selfies as it means happy and cute while duck face is preferred in the western selfies as it's associated with sexy and attractive (generally). 

在亚洲试的自拍中呢，yeah这个姿势绝对是最受欢迎的其中一个，因为它一般象征着可爱和开心，而在北美呢，则是鸭子嘴形，因为这一般代表着性感和诱人。

Spring Trench and Lace

With today's look, I picked two of my favourite and also the most versatile fashion elements- trench and lace. This lace dress itself is very feminine and soft, and by adding the trench coat, the whole look is instantly toughened up and becomes more polished.

对于今天的这套着装呢，我选择了两个我最喜欢并且非常百搭的元素－蕾丝和风衣。这条粉色的蕾丝裙给人一种非常女性化和柔弱的感觉，套上了这个有轮有廓的风衣之后，整身看起来更加有棱有角了。

Asian Kimono Style

Hi all, Friday is here and have you started planning for your weekend yet?

嗨亲们，周五到了，你们有开始计划这个周末要怎么过吗？

Whether is giving it boho twist or intergrading it with more a contemporary feel, kimono is definitely making a come back this spring. Although I personally wasn't a big fan of kimono before, I fell in love with it when I recently spotted this baby blue with some pastel pink detailing Kimono in Urban Outfitters. The colour combo is just so cheerful and spring-appropriate.

无论是加入了boho的元素还是引进了更多的现代感，和服的改良试衣服是今年春天的一大亮色。尽管我之前对于这种衣服并不是太感冒，不过当我在店里看见这件的时候，我立马就爱上了它。不仅它鲜艳的颜色搭配特别引人注目，还让人穿起来感觉心情愉悦呢。

Denim on Denim

Hi all, just want to say a quick hello and hope you all are having a great week so far.

嗨亲们，就想打个招呼。希望你们这周目前一切都顺利。

I paired a Hollister destroyed dark wash denim jeans with my favourite H&M chambray shirt to create a daring business casual yet polished spring look.

Denim generally is associated with casual and dressing-down, but it actually is also a great piece that can be easily dressed up too. Especially for a more laid-back and creative work atmosphere, denim can definitely come in handy.

今天的这套着装呢，我就把我这条比较深色的牛仔裤与带有退色感的上衣搭在了一起来打造一套春天的休闲商务便装。丹宁总是给人一种休闲随意风的感觉，但其实你知道吗？它也是一件非常具有潜力的单品。不仅特别百搭，而且如果搭配得对的话，还能穿出上班族的严谨呢。特别是如果你在一个比较轻松的公司上班的话，丹宁绝对是你最好的朋友。

Fedora Fever

Happy Good Friday! Any plans for this long Easter weekend? 

周五愉快！这个周末是北美这边的复活节长周末。亲们有什么特别的计划和打算吗？

If you've been following along with my blog, you may have already noticed that I'm a hat lover- from fedora to baseball cap, from vintage to contemporary- I have them all. And I recently just added this grey one to my hat collection. As I love this fedora so much, I decided to go for an accessory free look to highlight this hat even more. Sometimes less IS more. 

如果你一直关注我博客的话，可能早就发现我对帽子的情有独钟了。无论是牛仔帽，还是棒球帽，无论是复古风，还是现代感的，我应有尽有。哈哈。最近呢，我更是把这款灰色的牛仔帽加入了我的帽子收藏中。并且为了能更好地凸显这顶帽子，我决定让这身着装走一个“零饰品”的路线。有时候吧，少的确意味着多！

Flower Girl

If you are following me on Instagram, you probably have already noticed my latest obsession with flowers. The lively colours and uplifting feel attached to them are just incredible. Hope your week has kicked off with a great Monday! If not,  how about treating yourself with a brunch of flowers?

如果你们follow我Instagram的话，恐怕已经发现我最近对鲜花的特别迷恋了。它那灿烂的颜色和充满生机的感觉特别振奋人心，让人陶醉。希望你这个星期有一个很好的开始，如果不太顺利的话，不妨买束鲜花犒劳犒劳自己吧。

Please don't be fooled by the "I LOVE TAX" words on the tee I'm wearing. I do not like tax at all! Haha! But there is a story behind this shirt. The other day when Mr.S was organizing his closet, he found this shirt which he didn't remember where it came from . Not to mention it is way too small for him, but the passion for tax statement is not really his style. However, instead of throwing it away, I decided to put it in MY closet. I've been on the hunt for a simple white tee for quite a while now, and da da da da, here it is. 
So maybe you can go over your closet (or your boyfriend's) and see if you can find something? A university tee? An old jersey? In this way, you not only can save some money from buying new tees, but also recycle some pieces that you thought you would never put in use again.

千万别被这件衣服上“我喜欢税”的字样所欺骗了。我可是一点都不喜欢交税的。再加上在加拿大税这么重。不过，这件衣服的背后是有一个有趣的故事的。有一天S先生在整理他衣柜时发现了这件体恤。但他完全记不起来这件体恤是哪里来的。不过与其把它扔掉，我决定收入我的衣柜里。本来我就已经找这种简单的白体恤找了很久了，所以这件衣服的出现简直感觉是雪中送炭。我也建议亲们不妨到自己或者男朋友的衣橱里仔细搜索一下，说不定就能找件称心如意的上衣呢。这样既省钱了，也好好回收利用了。不是吗？
