Mono Mood

Hi all, did you guys watch any World Cup games this weekend? Although I have always been and always will be a Brazil fan, I still have to admit that Germany did put on many great performances along the way and is well-deserved to be the first European champaign on a South American land.  

嗨亲们，你们这个周末有看世界杯总决赛嘛？尽管我永远都是巴西的忠实球迷，但是不得不承认，德国在本次世界杯确实上演了很多的精彩并成为了第一个在南美领土上获得冠军的欧洲国家。

Now, let's get back to my look today. I've been wanting to create a monochromatic look for a while, but didn't get the right inspiration to make it happen till I rediscovered this neon-ish orange shorts that I bought last year from H&M. I think the key to create a mono look is to play with different textures and layerings. Of course you can wear the exact same shade and fabric from head to toe, but I think mix and match makes pairing more fun and interesting. 

我一直以来都想打造一身一色系的着装，但总是找不到灵感。直到最近在我的衣橱里找到了我去年在HM买的这条有点带荧光色系的短裤，灵感才涌来。我觉得打造单色系着装的关键是搭配和层叠不同面料的单品。当然你也可以从头到脚都穿一种颜色或完全相同的面料，不过我个人觉得还是加入一点混搭会更有趣。

First Day of Summer

Saturday was the first day of summer, so Mr. S and I went to one of our old neighbourhoods- Queens quay and Spadina to enjoy a beautiful afternoon. As soon as we got closer to the lake, Mr. S took a deep breathe and said: "Hmm.. It smells like my cottage." He misses being close to the lake and being able to jump into the water anytime he wants. And me? I miss the ocean...

星期六是今年盛夏的开始，所以我和S先生就索性到我们之前住过得湖边附近去感受了久违的夏天的爽快。他刚一到湖边，就深了一口气，感叹：“这味道闻起来像我们家的农舍。”而我呢，就很想念大海。

(在这里解释一下农舍的意思。北美这边呢，一般条件较好的家庭都会在比较偏北边或者人烟稀少的地方买一栋房子，每年一旦到了夏天，全家人就会隔三差五地到那里去住几天，甚至几个星期，度度假，远离城市的喧嚣。)

Dressed-Up Maxi

Hi all, how's your Tuesday going?

On Sunday, we were invited to attend Much Music Video Awards 2014 annual afternoon party hosted by The Field Inc. To be honest, when I got the invitation, I was having a mix feeling- honoured, excited but also a little worried. I knew it would be a great opportunity to meet lots of talented people in the industry, but on the other hand, I wasn't sure what to wear. I don't have any glamourous nightgowns for special occasions like this. After being silence for five minutes and briefly scanning through all the pieces I have in my head, I thought of this maxi dress I got from H&M last year.

嗨亲们，周二过得怎么样呢？

上周日，我们被邀请参加加拿大每年最大的音乐盛典MMVA 2014的提前派对。说实在的，收到邀请时，我的心情可以说是挺复杂的。感觉又荣幸，又激动，但是又有点担心。我知道这会是一个认识很多有才华业界人士的好机会，但是令我郁闷的是不知道要穿什么。不怕你笑话，我没有一件特别场合穿得晚礼服。在沉默了五分钟后，我想起来了这条去年在HM买的连身长裙。

The look I put together last time with this maxi dress was more a casual and "beach-appropriate" one (here). However this time, as you can see, the dress is slightly transformed to a more glamourous and dressed-up piece. And the secret to create two looks with one dress? The answer is only one word- Accessories! 

之前（这里）我穿这条裙子的时候，打造出了一套比较休闲、适合到海边吹风时穿的着装。而这次呢，我就给这条裙子来了个“摇身一变”，搭配出比较华丽一点的感觉。同样是一条裙子，是什么让两套着装感觉截然不同呢？答案很简单：饰品！

Day By The Lake

Hi all, how's your week going?

Growing up by the ocean, I always have a very special bond with water. So re-visiting the lake of Ontario yesterday after a long winter and chilly spring was truly an amazing feeling. 

嗨亲们，这周过得怎么样啊？

对于在海边长大的我来说，我对水总是带有一种特别的情素。所以在经历了非常漫长的冬天和冷飕飕的春天之后，重新到安达略湖去感觉非常不错。

I picked up this stripe summer dress with a backless cut for sale at M for Mendocino for only $15. I know! Such a “steal deal”! :) When talking about maxi/midi summer dresses/skirts though, we generally like to pair them with a big floppy hat to create that boho chic vibe. However, this time I decided to go for a baseball cap to give it a slight edgy twist.

我在M for Mendocino店里买了这条露背的条纹裙子，才15加元。超级便宜吧？不过每当说到夏天的长裙，我们一般会搭配一顶大檐帽来打造一个波西米亚风。而我这次就决定来换个穿法，加一顶棒球帽来增添一点帅气的感觉。

Easy Cozy

Hi everyone, this week has passed by fair quickly to me. There are lots of things worth looking forward to for the weekend- hanging out with some new friends, catching up with my besties, and celebrating a good friend's birthday...How about you? Any plans? 

嗨亲们，这一周感觉过得特别快。这个周末有许多值得我期待的事情哦，跟新朋友们出去玩，跟老朋友叙叙旧，还有一个好朋友过生日。。你们呢？有什么计划吗？

Pulling this casual chic look together definitely takes some courage and determination. Over-sized trouser has always been one of the man-repelling pieces that Mr. S would never be able to willing to understand. He would make jokes like: "They look like a grandma's pants!" Well, well, well, being stylish sometimes means going in a totally different direction from pleasing the gentlemen . At least to me, they are extremely light-weighted and effortlessly chic, which is all that matters. 

打造这一身简单舒适的着装绝对是需要一些勇气的。像这种比较宽松的裤子从来都是男生们不能理解的单品。S先生还会开玩笑说：“这看起来像我外婆的裤子。” 有时候吧，时尚意味着不能取悦男生们，甚至有可能朝相反的方向走。不过吧，我觉得它简易舒服，又时尚大方，这才是最重要的。
