Sunny Summer Sunday

Hi everyone,

Happy Sunday! Hope you all are having a wonderful long weekend. :)

I have been feeling very sick since we came back from Toronto this Wednesday...huge headache, upset stomach...:( After tons of water, medicine, and sleep, I finally feel much better now. :)

Oversized Jumpers and Knit-wears are normally associated with casual and dressing-down looks, but the idea of dressing them up has recently been pretty popular on many fashion runways and blogs.

I picked up this yellow open-knit sweater from Forever 21 for only $8 on their Spring Sale this year. By pairing this over-sized sweater with a flowy and layered black skirt and a pair of statement heels, the whole look is transformed from a casual to a more polished and sophisticated one. However, at the same time, the big size and bright colour of the sweater just add a little bit playfulness and chicness to this outfit.

Thank you so much for reading! Hope you are having a wonderful weekend :)

Maxi Fever

Hi everyone,

Happy Monday! Mr.S and I have been in Toronto since last week visiting our favourite restaurants, hanging out with some good friends, and enjoying some quality time with family...

While we were catching up with some good memories in Toronto(a city that has a very special meaning to us), we heard that many places in Calgary were flooded and thousands of people had to leave their homes. The reporter side of me immediately felt like going back to the frontline to cover the story and report to all the audiences. However, we do feel very blessed that we are far away from the flood, and our prayers and hearts are with all the Calgarians whose lives got affected by this situation.

BUT, What doesn't kill you will make you stronger. I believe going through this nature disaster and rebuilding the city together will make Calgary a more united place more than ever. :)

Oakville is small but very beautiful town near Toronto where Mr.S's family is living and where I went to Journalism school. Re-visiting the place really brought up many good and pleasant memories.

If someone ask me what is a must-have piece for every Summer, I would say Maxi. Either a maxi dress or Skirt, it's good for different occasions and it's a piece that can just be pulled on and go. The draping and flowy nature of the skirt not only creates a easy breezy feel but also takes the casual look onto a feminine level.

This nude maxi dress caught my eye right away when I was browsing in H&M. The special cut at the back, the length of the dress, and especially, the price(It was on sale for $30) really made this dress hard to resist.  :)

Thank you so much for reading. Hope you just started an awesome week. Talk to you soon! :)

Golden Sunset

Hi everyone,

Happy Thursday! It feels like green grass and beautiful flowers all came out just overnight in Calgary. Spring is my favourite time of the year as the weather is quite warm during the day so I'm able to rock my light Summer outfits, and at night, I can still play with layering when it gets a little bit chilly. :)

Metallic pieces have been pretty big since the beginning of this year. I got this very cute and well-tailored dress from Club Monaco during their hot sale season for only around 30 dollars (original price was more than $200! ). But it has been sitting in my closet since then. To a girl like me who doesn't have a perfect model slim body, I was afraid that the shining material will maximize my disadvantages. However, when I saw this white top from Hollister, I immediately thought of this medallic dress that had been left alone for a while, and believed they would be a perfect match. :) Wearing it with confidence should be the best way to roll. haha

Dress Up Denim

Hi everyone,

Happy Tuesday!

How's your week going so far? In Calgary, rain come and go which really makes C-town become a second Raincouver. I really miss those sunny days...Rain rain rain, please go away :(

Denim is definitely a magic piece that can transform a casual chic look to a glamourous fancy feel. The colour and texture of this denim shirt really adds a little more casual and breezy flare to this dressed-up outfit. Recently, I have become obsessed with those puffy fish-bowl shaped skirt as they create a modern feminine feel yet not super girly.

Wearing this lovely midi white skirt really wakes up those amazing memories when I was a little dancer. If it wasn't raining and no one was watching, I might just started to move my body with the music in my head. HAHA

P.S. Sorry about the slightly wrinkly denim. I will get a steamer soon...soon. :)

Casual Romper

Hi everyone,

Happy Saturday! Just want to say a quick HI to all of you and hope you are having a great weekend. :)

Romper is definitely a Spring/Summer must-have that can easily be dressed down or up and for different occasions. In addition, it's really a wallet friendly piece as you pretty much buy one get one free (buy the top and get the bottom for free LOL).

Going to meet your girlfriends for a brunch? Well, putting a romper on and then you're good to go. Quick and easy. Having a dinner date with your significant other? Pairing it with a beautiful statement necklace and a classy pumps, and then you are ready to look effortlessly chic.

BUT, what romper really bugs me is when you go to the washroom. (you know what I mean?) HAHA

Spring Floral

Hi everyone,

Happy Sunday! Hope you are having a wonderful weekend. :)

This week hasn't been really pleasant... Due to some reconstruction in my company, the whole production team in Alberta had been let go (including me). Plus it has been raining all week, the grey and chilly weather really didn't add any colour to this change at work.

I was shocked at first as there was no sign or whatsoever. I was also sad that the top of the company made the decision of giving up the Alberta market which is in a boom. I was unhappy to say goodbye to all the amazing colleagues and incredible memories. And most importantly, I had to put a pause on something that I love: Reporting.

But this is life and this is Journalism. All I can do and should do is keeping walking and walking with confidence and a positive attitude.

I was talking to one of my colleagues the other day about goals in my life. I told him that I'm a very goal oriented person, so I have always been setting up a goal in each stage of life, then walking towards it and following it throughBut, this moment has been the first time in my life that I don't have a goal, and I'm not really enjoying the feeling of walking towards nowhere. Then, my colleague told me: "Maybe it's time to put your faith in God and let him walk you to the next adventure."

Just overnight, I have changed from a full-time reporter who have a passion for fashion to a full-time fashion blogger who have a passion for reporting. The unpredictability in life can sometimes be very scary, but the possibilities that it can lead to is something incredibly beautiful about life.

Thank you very much for being on this journey with me.

I am not the only one who is going through some big changes in life. Due to some personal reasons, one of my best friends is leaving Canada today to go back to her country. I wish I can be in Toronto to say goodbye to her in person and give her a big hug with love before she leaves. But I am here wishing her all the best and hope can see her again soon! :)
